The Queensland Wader Study Group (QWSG) was established in 1992 as a special interest group within Birds Queensland, to monitor wader populations in Queensland and to work towards their conservation.
The aim of our website is to share information about waders and QWSG’s activities with everyone interested in these special birds and to encourage participation in the conservation effort. Please see the “What’s New” page for details of Wader ID days in 2011 and all our other activities.
The Victorian Wader Study Group (VWSG) was formally constituted in 1978, however fieldwork actually began in 1975. The VWSG’s primary objective is to conduct a long-term comprehensive study of waders and terns throughout Victoria. The VWSG is a non-profit organisation and is made up of around 140 volunteers.
Results from the VWSG activities are reported annually in their Bulletin
